Who Are We?
The Great Commission College (GCC) is an undergraduate nonprofit institution of higher learning emerging out of the Great Commission Theological Institute. Founded in Paterson, New Jersey, over half a century ago, in 1972 to be exact, the Institute was established by the Great Commission Pentecostal Church, the oldest Hispanic church in the state.
GCC carries now the Institute’s torch with distinction. It continues the legacy affording men, women, and the youth opportunities to study the Scriptures with a unique signature-teaching method focused on developing each student’s potential so that God’s purpose in their lives may be realized. The method includes a personalized investigative, hermeneutical, and systematic study of the Bible and related fields.
Thanks to the promise of collaboration agreements, partnerships, and consortiums with other institutions of higher learning, the curriculum of GCC study programs includes introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses in the Bible, as well as behavioral sciences, in ways that shape the practice of Christian Counseling and Pastoral Care.
The curriculum is designed with study materials strictly created based on the Bible, research, studies, and publications from reputable and reliable sources. GCC offers a highly qualified faculty with outstanding qualifications in their field of studies. Most are seasoned reverends, pastors, ministers, and scholars who holds ultimate graduate degrees including Ph.D.s, masters, and doctorates in theology, divinity, ministry, and higher education administration and educational leadership.
GCC is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of diverse experts, scholars, and spiritual leaders from the faith-based, non-profit and higher education sectors from across the United States and abroad.
